Dear Parents & Students,

Welcome to Ms, Lynn’s 2nd grade class.  We are going to have a wonderful year together with lots of fun learning and fun projects, too.  I am looking forward to working with both students and parents because the school setting works better with the cooperation of everyone.  If you ever need anything, feel free to contact me at school.

·         To help keep you informed, I will be send a folder home every 3 weeks filled with your child’s work.  Look through them, keep them but sign and return the folder and Ziploc bag to school.

·         I will send a weekly newsletter every Friday to let you know what we are doing the following week.

·         Each day we begin the day with AR (Accelerated Reader).  We read, and then test, for 15 minutes.  Please be on time each day so they can build AR points.

·         We read one reader story per week with the spelling words, grammar, and reading practice activities that go with that story.   Test will be given on Friday.

·         Math as well as science and social studies are very important in the second grade so please be prepared for homework folders to come home most Monday evenings with 2 or 3 worksheets to be completed by Friday.  I try to alternate the subjects weekly.

·         Snack time varies based on special class time.  Snacks should be brought daily.  I have a refrigerator and microwave in the classroom.
