for desk and chair Dear Parents, It is time to start school again. I am looking forward to a great year with
your child and you. You can reach me
at 423-300-3325. Feel free to call
or visit the classroom any time you or your child have questions or
problems. This
year I am going to try something new to help your child become more organized
and to help you be more informed. Your child will be receiving a School
Planner free of charge
Your child will be responsible for writing down their
homework in this planner. It is the responsibility of your child to study
and complete the homework assignments. He/She
will be responsible for having this planner with them every day in class
and at home. You and I also have a
duty to initial each entry to show that the work was completed and turned
in. I feel that this method will
help you know what your child is doing in class. There
will be several projects for your child to do this year. Please use materials that you have at
home. It is not necessary to run to
Wal-Mart or other stores to gather materials for each of these
projects. The goal of the projects
is to be creative and resourceful. Occasionally,
we like to celebrate. We may ask you
to help with supplies or time. It
may go unsaid at the moment, but before we forget, we appreciate anything
you can do for us. There
will be occasions that forms will need to be filled out by you for the
school or for myself. Please be
aware that these forms will be located in your child’s planner. Please return these completed forms the
next day. Many times these forms are
misplaced or forgotten. Please
understand that these forms are important. Attached
you will find what your child needs for class. Be aware that I do not want mechanical
lead pencils or pens. Your child
must use only #2 pencils that can be sharpened. If you or your child has any questions
about the list please ask. All
supplies should be in by Monday August 16.
(Be aware that the tax free weekend is August 5-7th.
Please make sure that your child has paper and a pencil for the
first week of school. We
will work together this year to provide your child with the best
education. Cooperation and
determination are the keys to a great education. I will thank you at the beginning for
helping to make this year great.
Without your child in class, this year would not be complete. Sincerely, Margaret
Trent
